My most unique Gettysburg Panoramic Photograph is the 360 degree panoramic from the top of the National Tower, stitched together from 12 images taken in the fall of 1999. The tower was demolished on July 3, 2000. It is the only full panoramic that I am aware of taken from the tower. The tower provided a spectacular view of the battlefield, surrounding area, and the roads leading into Gettysburg. However in was also intrusive and in my opinion ugly. The tower and its destruction was filled with controversy. There was little interest in Gettysburg to reproduce this image because it remained a touchy subject, what was gained – what was lost.

In the midst of the panoramic photograph is the Cyclorama Building designed by Richard Nautra, one of the nation’s leading architects. It too was demolished and surrounded by controversy since by many it was considered an architectural masterpiece.
